Member statement: We fought to end open net pen fish farms in Liverpool Bay long before we opened our restaurant. They are not only a blight on our beautiful waterfront but the quality of life for the fish and the food product itself is terrible. The salmon have sea lice, they are pumped full of antibiotics and dyes, plus they leave the sea floor full of their toxic feces. When we decided to open Main & Mersey I wouldn’t sell Salmon if it couldn’t be wild caught or raised responsibly in land-based farms. We do our best to source local wild caught, or produce grown locally whenever possible.
